The truck also decides for itself if it needs to keep charging rather than shit off. I commute very short distances and mine rarely shuts off when I stop. If you have the display on that particular setting it will say ‘disabled due to vehicle charging’

I meant shut off. But I left it because I’m 8 and it was funny.

Well I guess why mine never performed auto start stop is I haven’t worn my seat belt. I didn’t know that was one of the criteria for auto start stop. So yes I was wrong. I doesn’t stay through key cycles. My bad guys. I was just kinda excited it might have been possible without forscan

Correct, sport mode defaults a.s.s to off, then you can push it to turn it on. The 'auto engine off' option in the cluster menu is for [dis/en]abling engine shutoff after exceeding x idling time

IE: you walk away from the vehicle, but leave it running - it'll cut off after x minutes - if you disable the setting - it won't cut off.

In California, that feature has been disabled....bastards! We have to use other methods to turn it off.

This is not a California thing, it is a Federal thing. The EPA tests the truck in the "default" configuration. If the auto-start-stop could be disabled and stayed that way the EPA would have to test the truck in that mode, defeating (at least in the sticker ratings) the purpose of having it.

There are a variety of ways to override this feature, and several lengthy threads on it on these forums. The most "OEM" like (but certainly not the least expensive) I have found is this one ( https://www.autostopeliminator.com/.../products/2015-ford-f-150-autostop-eliminator ). All of the other techniques had some advantages (for example, many are less expensive) and disadvantages (many are semi-permanent or require modification), but this one acts like it should have from the factory, it remembers the last condition you told it to be in, on or off, and when the vehicle is restarted it is in that last commanded mode.

I believe that setting is for disabling the auto engine stop after 30mins of idling in park. That setting is on all raptors, this does not effect auto start/stop when driving.

I have this on my truck, the install was very easy but don`t use a screwdriver to pry the panel off, I bought a budget trim removal kit from Amazon for removing interior parts around $12.00
If you plan on putting a tune in your truck there are several out there that will disable the start/stop
