Cvf intercooler installed

Installed the intercooler today in two hours on the ground for first time wasn’t to bad. That also included pulling back out because I didn’t know I had to take the plastic trim off the front to make more room. Install was smooth after that. At the same time I did the VTA mod and plug.

That’s the only mods on the truck so far and seems to pull much harder. Anyone else notice this just on a intercooler swap? Could it be because of the increase in volume size of the intercooler?
About to do the install Sat after work. Any pointers? Obviously first drop the skid plate then go from there? Anything to make the job go smooth and easy, thanks!

An extra set of hands helps when installing the CVF, its a bit heavy, and don't forget to crank down the clamp on the new elbow, mine blew off twice !

Not sure if you've installed it yet, but I'd recommend better hose clamps, such as t-bolt clamps. The factory ones are pretty lightweight and don't tighten well.

Ya tighten down the clamps really well. I used a jack to support the IC, make sure to reuse the rubber grommets and that they stay on and line up where they should as you raise it back in place.

as far as the fans I used a zip tie to hold them up while I got the IC up there. Then removed it after. Check for burs in the IC mine had a couple sketchy ones that I removed

If you want your manifold temps to drop even more, take the shutters out. I did this about a month after I installed my CVF intercooler and now there only is a 10 - 15 degree difference between intake and manifold temps when cruising. (90+ degree weather) Even after the intercooler install there was still a 20 degree difference or higher with the shutters in.
