Transfer case transfers and splits power to front and rear. AWD trucks have them as well.

The transfer case in these is electronically shifting, it does engage/disengage the front driveshaft. 4wd selection activates the IWE and selects front output and high or low range.

Glad to see your progressing, tenacity pays dividends!

question. i cant get friction modifier tonight. didnt know i needed it. am i ok to drive 40 miles without it? need to go home and then back here in the morning where i can get some. just highway and city streets. no offroading.

@FordTechOne if you are around, a little insight would help. i also have 80w90 gear oil as stated in the supplement ok to just fill and leave room for the 4 oz of modifier tomorrow?

No friction modifier is required for the front axle. Friction Modifier is only used in clutch based limited slip differentials.

Would a Torsen diff not typically Require friction modifier because it does not have the clutches like a plate style limited slip?
