PIX for attention

HI all, I confess to being rather new here. I've tried searching the forums for, "CPE performance" and nothing comes up. I'm hoping to get some good information from those of you that really know these trucks and performance modifications. Questions:

1. Does anyone here have CPE stuff on their Gen 2? If not, why not? I just had their CAI, front mount intercooler and catless downpipes installed. On a Sai Li tune, the whp/wtq both went up around 100, (323 whp, 383 wtq to 419 whp, 499 wtq.) It's currently on 91 octane, so the tune will be adjusted once I can get a full tank of 93 in it.

2. Driving behind my truck the day it was picked up from the shop, I noticed quite a bit of smoke. The smell of fuel is overwhelming, and I'm assuming it's due to the catless pipes. Since then, I haven't seen the smoke again. I have, however, had the truck exhibit a small surge twice. Adding throttle removed the surge. Again, I'm assuming it's a slight tuning issue, but wanted to see if anyone here has experienced anything similar.

3. Lastly, the cam phasers. I didn't realize just how common they fail. I suppose I should prepare for the worst. IF I had to replace them out of pocket, how much does the job cost?

Thanks for the replies, I'm truly a NEWB here and looking for any and all information.

They will very likely replace cam phasers regardless of tune and tuner parts. It’s a well known issue that’s not caused or affected by engine output. It would take a seriously shady dealer to blame your mods.

What year and how many miles? It may not be an issue for you anyway. It’s a faulty part, not something that affects every truck.

Mine is a 19 with only 5500 miles. I'm glad to know that the mods shouldn't void them changing out the phasers if they break. Thank you, Isis.

I don’t think it’s all that common on the 2019’s and newer anyway. You guys get shit cameras lol.
