I thought the side glass was laminated as well as tempered and therefore hard to get through? the picture looks like an easy smash and grab
I am wondering about this, too. Front windows are laminated and it is very hard to break them.

Side glass is tempered, but not laminated. Only the windshield is laminated. Ford's panoroofs used to be laminated, but not anymore. They went to the cheaper and lighter tempered glass panoroofs.

Some cars do have laminated side glass, expensive luxury stuff for noise reasons.

Tempered is actually very hard to break, until it's not. Weird stuff. Supposedly a piece of porcelain from a spark plug shatters them no problem. Never tired it. They also sell window breakers for escaping cars that are designed to shatter it. They just need to carry one of those. Maybe a spring loaded center punch?

Some friends that I have that are on the rescue squad do carry a spring loaded center punch, and I have heard their stories of broken bones and other injuries from beating on a window to break it. I know that some other countries its mandatory to have one on your belt if you have anything to do with auto accidents, Police, Rescue and even tow truck drivers.
I have the hammer/seat belt cutter in my truck.

well my 2019 is laminated, it’s stamped acoustic laminated and you can see it too, so it theoretically would be harder to get through, maybe not all years got this product

oh ok he’s got a gen 1, are all gen 2s acoustic laminated?

I am back up and runnin'!

Installing the glass was much easier than I expected it to be.

Big thanks to Roger at Mission Valley Ford who was able to locate some glass for me with only a day turnaround time and minimal charge for the rush order.

@EricM I hate to ask but you mention 2 separate models i have a 2013 and would want the extended range antenna and 2 way communication, would you happen to have a part number for that? Thank you.

That's the system you want. You should confirm with a dealer and your VIN exactly what part numbers you need.

You can do the cell phone based Remote Access as well. It has a monthly fee for the cell modem though. You can have both installed I believe, so you could use either system to remote start, plus your OE key if it has it.

I have all three on my 2014 and did a write up on the install of each. The remote access has a $50 yearly data fee. I'm curious if the motion sensors can be added like on the new Raptors. I get text and email messages when an attempted breach happens.
