Should one be leary of any 19's that dealers still have?

Local dealer has three 19's & 1 2020. Brand new with 802a package..

19's are marked down anywhere from 5k to 6k.

Back in October of 2017 I picked up a leftover 2016 Challenger Hellcat that had 15 miles on it. It was considered brand new and came with the full factory warranty. Combine that with the fact that it was $16,000 off sticker price, and it was an easy choice to make. If you can get a 2019 that is heavily discounted and has the options you want, I see no reason to avoid one.

That’s a below average starting point, but maybe you can work with it. it’s almost 2 model years old so this stealership is probably one of the greedy ones who tried in vain to snag someone for over MSRP and failed.

I’d be comfortable offering them 15k below to 16k below, given the model year depreciation, the onset of Dodge getting into the off road game and Ford following suit very soon with a new model.

As long as its in perfect shape and not left rotting in the back lot. I would try and work a deal for it. But yes a deeper discount than they are offering.

Nothing wrong with a '19 model, but that's not much of a deal. Let them know you are interested, if you are and then offer less, be prepared to walk away peacefully and see if they start budging.

I got $6K off at the start of my deal in September of '19, and the Raptor was still on the semi. I agree with the others, you can get more off than that.

Some dealers buy them from other dealers at a discount to try to make a little money. Ford also offers incentives to help move them. Before my local dealer had the model I wanted I was searching the state of CA for models. I discovered that the sticker represents which state it was originally built to be delivered to. There were a couple that indicated NY, not CA. They had the engine heater option as well, rarely needed in CA except perhaps Tahoe. My guess is this isn't uncommon practice amongst dealers. If they can sell it as new, and you have the full warranty, I would check for tire rot but otherwise you should be good to buy them. Just know that they may not have had them very long from another dealer and therefore that will impact their willingness to deal on them.

I bought my 2019 supercab 801a in may with $7500 off the price. I basically got it for the price of a base model. The truck is amazing. Get it and change the oil. No problems so far 5000 miles so far.
