Question #16: Best way to protect your Raptor outdoors in Winter?

Toss a big blue tarp over it. When the neighbors complain, say "I wanted to put up a carport, but I'd need a variance." Watch your neighbors help you get a variance. Easy peasy.

Sounds like a derail, but it’s not:

If you bought a house where your neighbors get a say in what you do on your property, you did it wrong.

I know, McMansions with cultured tile foyers, and organic, free-range walrus **** bidets are all the rage, but life is way too short to give half a squirt what your neighbors think.

Not only could I build a flaming satan statue right on the property lines my neighbors can see, if I were so inclined, but I have 3/4 mile worth of property lines where my neighbors wouldn’t even see it for at least a year or five.


Do the right thing; put up a car port, and start exercising your middle fingers. You’ll respect yourself more if you do.

I choose raptor over pine tree. Cut it down. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. I've dealt with pine pitch. It sucks no matter what type of wax/coating you put on the truck .

True- but I recently used 3M anti-adhesive remover & I gotta say it is one of THE most effective “chemicals in a can” I have ever used for any application/purpose. W/ extremely minimal effort spraying sap stains down w/ it then very gentle rub w/ some paper towels (to absorb the actual pine residue) then couple more sprays w/ it & a couple wipes w/ a microfiber cloth & voila! Gone

used it on strings of chewing gum strewn across the side of the bed too

just keep a layer of dirt on it. ever try putting a sticker on with dirt? shit dont stick.... ever.... plus it keeps the uv off the paint....

I'll keep that in mind. Everything I've ever tried has never worked with pitch.

OK, folks. It looks like getting rid of the tree is gaining some steam. Plus it's starting to lean towards the house! I smell a safety violation! Tree guy is coming in the next month to prune so just might have to add this to his laundry list.
