I think its just a rumor right? Majority of people buy Super Crews. Probably a financial decision by Ford. I hope its not true but I wouldnt blame them either.
Back in the 90's Mitsubishi discontinued the turbo Eclipse and only had the NA Eclipse. People complained about that too but only like 10% of Eclipse's sold were turbos. Nobody was buying them, also the reason manual transmissions are becoming extinct.
