Most of the Raptor owners around here are die hard Ford guys. I don't see many of them jumping ship no matter what Ram does.

The interior quality on the new Ram trucks is certainly superior to the current F-150 and Raptor, that has turned a few guys I know, but the rest of the truck is still a FCA product and the mechanical quality on the examples I’ve seen is sub par.

The other factor in this race is fuel economy. The Gen 2 Raptor does ok for what it is, and the likely hybrid powered Gen 3 should do better. That supercharger whine is the sound of money exploding (quoting Jeremy Clarkson) and the TRX will probably muster 12 MPG like the Power Wagon does. I realize most on here make fun of people mentioning MPG, but it’s certainly a factor for some for either economic or ecological reasons depending on where you live and whom you associate with.

You are 100% correct. Nobody in the car/truck enthusiast works really cares about MPG.

I haven’t cared about it... ever. Not even when I was a broke teenager paying for gas with coins from my ash tray. I certainly don’t care about it now.

So someone with the username 04Ram2500Hemi is posting a questions about Raptor value post TRX release, drops an "order" form, who mostly posts about how Dodge is always better, makes one think about their motives.

If Ram is so great, why are you here? That's a serious question unless you are only interested in trolling which in that case, is literally a waste of everyone's time.

I care about mpg for two reasons. The most important is range. I want a big one. :) The other is that as an engineer, I admire efficient design. The TT V6 is an elegant solution. A blown V8 is brute force. That said, either vehicle is a giant FU toward every tree-hugging, CAFE-pushing, environmental-sky-is-falling person in this country. The only way to get less love from them would be to put a Trump sticker on your bumper.

For me a difference of 5 mpg is $1500 annually. That extra money certainly isn't a deal breaker, but I'd rather spend it on something else all things being equal.

I haven't seen it in person because it doesn't exist yet. But from the pics I've seen of the 2021 F150 it looks like Ford caught up to Ram with their interiors.

The day of reckoning has come for the Gen II. I'm glad I sold mine a year ago back when values were stronger. Looking forward to see how Ford responds. If it's some hybrid V6 electric ***** stuff, Ram will revel in that. Someone who would choose something like that over a 6.2 supercharged engine would be the very definition of a fanboy.

Yes, it will definitely affect resale values.

Right now there is only one truck in this segment, soon there will be two.

How could it not change the equation?

Not that I care really, it is what it is.

Hey, Warren Buffet, prices are higher now than they were a year ago for same truck, more miles. Please enlighten us on your financial wizardry.
