I installed a new OEM steering wheel yesterday all went fine, Reconnected battery fired up no issues. I then got a notice from Ford Pass that there was an SRS Airbag fault. All connections are clicked in properly and the battery was disconnected during install. I reused my original airbag. I haven't driven the truck yet today and wondering if its something that just happens after you do a swap and will go away or it requires some kind of reset.

EDIT" I took the airbag back off and noticed one of the locks that the connecters has was just barely pushed up. the connector itself was completely seated but the lock was barely up. Pushed that in and presto. I am not even sure how the car could have sensed that was the issue but all good now, thanks for the responses.

I did a swap in my Shelby and didn't get any codes. How long was battery disconnected before install? I left mine disconnected for 2 hours. Didn't want to take any chances.
Did you get any codes in the truck?
Might just be that FordPass detected something when it was disconnected.

Yeah mine wasn’t disconnected for two hours before hand, probably 20-30 minutes. I had cycled the start button and lock unlock to try to get any extra juice out but maybe it was just some residual

Might be wrong on this, but I don't think the airbag fault is common. I switched out my wheel a couple weeks ago and didn't get any faults. Instructional video I followed didn't mention any faults either. Don't recall exactly how long my battery was disconnected, but I did not worry about getting fully draining the charge.

It might just have been fordpass acting crazy then. I don’t remember seeing the airbag light. The wife is about to drive the truck in a little bit so she will report back if there are any issues.

It was one of the locks on the connectors. It’s all good now thankfully
