Looking to get flowmaster super 10 muffler with y pipe and either no cats or high flows. Stock headers (for now). Dumped before the rear axle. How do y’all think it would sound?

I think dumping it before the axle will make it loud and you might get some drone, some people are okay with that though :)

Thanks for the response! And yeah I don’t mind drone. Just want it to sound as close to a trophy truck as possible (even before I do headers) lol. I have a Flowmaster super 10 I had on the truck before lying around so I figured why not use it! Less money I have to spend haha

I had mine dumped before the rear axle initially with a Black Widow muffler (similar to the flowmaster). If you can avoid it I would . The drone/resonance was so extreme everything in the truck was rattling. Rear view mirror, the dash, center console etc... As soon as I routed over the axle that all went away. So depending on how you are with rattles and drone you may wanna consider it. If you're not worried about it, you should get some sound out of that setup.

I did the super10 dump right before the axle.....lasted for a day and a half...drone was nuts, Now I still have a super10 but made my own exhasut and ran it out before the rear tire. Still some drone but not that bad.....

My experience with super 10's wasnt great, it was on a mustang but they droned badly, way louder inside than straight pipes were.

Actually ended up going with Flowmaster Outlaw Race Series. You can see straight through the muffler (like a toilet paper roll) but it has indentions on the inside to give it a distinct sound. Also going with x pipe and sticking with true duals
