Don't get the point of upgraded brakes on a Raptor. The stock brakes will already lock up the wheels. The truck weighs 3 tons and has flexible off road rubber. New brakes aren't going to improve stopping distance because they aren't the limiting component in the system.

I did the same as OP. The brake feel is okay at best and the upgraded pads and rotors allow for more control by having a stronger bite initially and more thermal fade resistance when braking hard over and over. The stock brakes overheat easily and you have to put a lot of pressure into the system to get them to really grab. When you are going say 80, and tap the brakes, you want to be able to slow the wheels down as fast as possible, not just be able to eventually lock them up. This is what reduces your stopping distance. As wheel speed decreases, the friction type changes from kinetic to static friction, increasing the brakes stopping power. This is why when you are coming to a stop, if you don't let off the brake at the tail end the truck will go from say, 5mph to stopped in a hard jerking motion. Locking up the wheels at max pressure is much different than having control. Ask any racer or even go try it on a bike yourself. This is a well known thing.

Meh, 1.3k for rotors and pads? Unless you are using it in Baja 1000 I don't see any gains what so ever from these.

Also aftermarket pads and drilled rotors don't go along nicely in humid condition.

With 37's its a different story the brakes do not perform as well as when I had my 35's. So I am starting EBC pads.

I hope the pads help and I do not end up with a full brake kit.

First of all, you can never (effectively) have too much brake less drivers ability to use such brake. I come from cars designed for performance and haven’t ever had a car that either didn’t come with big name brakes (still got at least pads) or hadn’t added something later. What most (at least lay persons) judge brakes by is brake feel. In most cases initial bite.

After poking around and hearing some opinions I ALMOST had an ALCON kit sitting on the garage bench before my 2020 Rptor arrived. Not surprising for someone with my affinity for excellent stopping power and feel. However, figured I’d give OE a try and was pleasantly not wishing otherwise. My 2020 is id say “adequate” for daily driving at best with only 3k miles. I’m not in love, but not jonesing for more yet. If Ferrodo made pads for this truck I’d have at least a front set of there DS2500s here already (about $300 an axle set). Yes they are that good for a daily.

Cliff notes:

brake feel is very subjective

upgrading brakes makes more sense to me and cost less than many aesthetic mods

i’m a little high from a knee replacement yesterday so hope this makes sense.
