Removing spare tire

trying to get the tool into its spot to lower down the spare tire carrier but I can't seem to get the tool in the right spot?

What am I doing wrong?

This is just meant in good humor, but isn't the tool that he needs to lower the spare tire part of the jack assembly. If so, was he being a "jack ass" when he couldn't find the right hole? Once again, my comment was not meant to be malicious!!! I honestly have not even looked at how to lower the spare tire, so I'm guessing it would't be obvious to me either.

Wouldn't that make the hole in the back the jack ass hole?
