How do I make this thing go faster?

As the title suggests, i am trying to go faster in my gen 2 raptor. i have an SCT tune on 93 octane, a cat back magnaflow with 5" tips, and a k&n cai. what else can i do to make it go faster? i heard that an intercooler might be an option but i've also heard that it doesn't add any horsepower. what do you guys think?

I have the 93 Cobb tune, Borla Atak exhaust, turbo smart blowoff valve full race throttle body spacer, livernoice cold air intake. Fast enough for me.

I’m sorry, are you saying your gen 2 is faster than a Roush gen1?

I would assume a Gen 2 with bolt ons and a tune would be substantially faster than a Roush Gen 1. Do you have some stats to say otherwise? Only mods I have that affect performance are COBB Stage 1 tune and their trans tune. I did a measured 0-60 in 4.9 and I'm sure it could do better with a driver more skilled than I. I wouldn't think a Roush Gen 1 could do better than 5.5 0-60.

Trade it in for a Supercharged Gen 1

Same question. I would imagine a charged Gen 1 is still slower than a lightly modded Gen 2.

I think the intercooler is your answer! I have the Cobb tuning with Cobb intake system and the Cobb intercooler making 550hp at the rear wheels 2018 GEN 2 STOCK EXHAUST.

Did you dyno it to confirm that 550? Just curious. Also Stage 1 or 2 tune?

That is really impressive. I love my V-8, but those numbers sound SICK!

Not sure what you’re trying to achieve....but generally speaking a GOOD tune alone is capable of adding min 60-70 up to 100 more HP/TQ @ the crank, (I am running gearhead/ORA personally & really like it) that adjust both the ECM AND (more importantly basically) the TCM- earlier/stage 1 cobb tunes didn’t touch the TCM + if you live in hot climate and/or will be pushing it hard on a consistent basis then an upgraded HD intercooler in stock location or even larger FMIC may be good idea to help maintain that peak performance more consistently, not really “add” any HP. I haven’t noticed an issue since I live in MA rarely do I find the truck heat smoking & losing power that I can notice. There’s no HP to be found in a CAI really, but downpipes and/or turbo adapters probably good for another 20-40hp or something. But really anything above & beyond that you’re probably looking @ upgrading turbos or stroking the engine building bottom end upgrading pistons/cams etc. & all that power above & beyond the first round of bolt-ons always gets pricier & pricier. I suppose nitrous is an option but to me isn’t “real” - however methanol injection on other hand could be worth checking into - dual benefit of allowing engine to make more power add more timing & run cooler.

it’s a 5500 lb 4x4 offroad truck on 35”s....But I’ll be damned if there’s anything close to the total package once you have a solid tune & running those downpipes & adapters w/ a decent intercooler (personally I’d go stock location like CVF, whipple, Wagner, mishimoto etc) you’re talking bout 460-490whp & 550-580rwtq + running through a 10 speed auto & 4.10 gears w/ ability to run in true “AWD” in dry conditions. I mean just listening to that statement in and of itself & considering what was available in the truck market only 10 years ago it’s really crazy what the Raptor is capable of w/ mild mods.

I don’t really think you need more than that in this truck, as it is w/ those mods you’ll well exceed the capability of both the brakes & suspension if pushing it- so then you’re talking more $$$$ if you actually wanna USE all that power on a regular basis in all conditions safely & repetitively.
