GEN 2 Who is Running 40s??

Who is running 40s on their Gen 2.

What suspension are you running?

Do you have to run flared fenders on the Front and Bed?

I have 37s currently and thinking about jumping up to 40s when I'm done with these tires. From all the pictures I've seen, they look so damn good!! It seems like everyone running them had to upgrade the fenders and bedsides too.

This my recent build thread for running 39s. it is a gen1 but most of the steps will be very similar.

the biggest thing is firewall clearance, new glass might keep you from rubbing against the body but when you compress the tire it needs more room. this is achieved by either running a lift kit, long travel kit, midtravel kit, and still moving the firewall, its all about the uptravel and where that tire is going to go.

Found this picture online. Wonder if anyone on here owns this one. My guess is they did a 4" fabtech lift or something (not what I would do). Not a fan of the color, but I do like how the bigger tires look.

In addition to firewall clearance, I believe you also have to worry about headlight clearance at compression. I've seen shaved headlights to get around this, but they are a bitch to keep sealed after that.
