Nice setup, I read an earlier post above that a hard shell wouldn't work unless you had a rack on top of the cab due to the footprint have to be almost double that of a soft cover tent since the unfold when setting them up.

However looking at yours I see that this isn't true and it appears as though yours does unfold somewhat.

Is there enough room for two people comfortably?

I like how it's mounted on your rack as it seems like it would help with aerodynamics.

Do you notice much drop in mpg?

Do you have a build list/post?

He doesn't have a hardshell tent. With the short bed of the Raptor, you would need to either mount a hardshell on a cap OR have a bedrack that would allow it to sit above the roofline. I have a Baroud Evasion XXL and it sits a little bit over the cab and a little bit past the end of the cap.

If you went with a folding/softshell tent, you could easily tuck it below the roofline. I've done that too with a CVT Rainier. Only problem with that is that it limits you using the front window on the tent since the cab normally gets in the way of the awning on tents of that design.

Correction: this set up is a Deaver +3 but the non-HD version

fully loaded with Wilco rack, RTT, cooler full, etc. the rear squats down just a touch. I don't have a measurement on that at the moment.

if you want "lift" go geiser / +4HD Deavers. otherwise, eibach / +3HD is relatively stock height-ish and level. at least that's my experience.

Good to know. The more Im looking I think the Eibach is how Im going to go.

That's not my Raptor that's Raptoregon on Instagram. She has the new iKamper mini on her's and it fits but its definitely smaller inside compared to my CVT tent.

Thank you. This is exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. It also makes me think +4HD if I do the Eibachs. I don't mind a little rake and I don't want her nose high even when fully loaded.

Thanks, yes I mistakenly thought that was his he was posting without paying attention to whom had posted it but the one that is posted is a hard shell and it appears to sit low.

Thanks, yeah I didn't pay attention on that one.

I like the idea of not having to purchase and tow an offroad camper and a hard shell is a lot easier to set up if going in that direction, however, as you've pointed out the size is smaller unless I guess you go over the cab as another member posted which would probably kill mpgs.

If you have the cash for a offroad camper check out the GoFast Campers. It might be good alternative for you.

I done some research and I'd personally wouldn't recommend GoFast campers.

There are smilar but much higher quality campers out there albeit more expensive.
