So, got my Blackstone report back from my last oil change. For reference, I changed my initial oil at 1k miles. First oil change I used Amsoil for 5k miles - my computer says to change at 5k for some reason. Every change since has been with Schaeffer's 9000. Please don't come at me that it isn't group 4 etc - truck runs quieter and smoother than with the Amsoil, fact. Anyway, I am pleased with the report and it shows I can go at least another 2k per OCI. I probably won't but I know I won't turn into a pumpkin if I go over a bit.

Anyway, post up your oil analysis tests if you got them.

Great idea @nikhsub1 for us oil nerds and perhaps make it a sticky also.

Here’s a couple of mine with my favourite concoctions:

Rotella T6 5w30

Amsoil SS 5w30

I’ll probably stick with Amsoil and go to 10000km OCI.

While I don’t have any oil analysis to post, I’m very curious on oil for the 3.5HO. I have traditionally ran Mobil1 in all my vehicles and have never had a problem, but I’m always curious if there is something “better” at the same price point.

What made you choose Schaeffer, @nikhsub1?

In my euro cars I always use Motul - didn't see a suitable oil for the raptor from them so my first change was to Amsoil signature. I know it's good etc. Started poking around and found about about Schaeffers, saw it in several tests and they have been making oil longer than anyone. Anyhow, I think I first put it in the truck around 6k miles (changed at 1k to amsoil). I wasn't expecting anything but I shit you not the truck ran much quieter and the idle became much smoother. Did more research and found they use a lot of moly which is why it always scores tops on wear scar tests. Anyway, the motor seems to run better with it than the Amsoil, and I know that Amsoil is probably the top oil out there.

Been running Mobil-1 (full syn, not the blend) since the first change at ~1800 miles. Went a bit longer each time over the next three to find the best time between the TBN readings, and the onboard oil life monitor. Looks like 7500 miles will be my OCI going forward. I'll probably skip an analysis on the next change at 25000-26000 and do one at 33-34,000 since all the wear metals looked good and were stable or still going down. You can see the report for all 4 I've submitted in the attachment.

Whats your OCI with Schaeffers and roughly what how much is it per quart?
