Compared to this Uty Trailer with about 2000#s and without the Reese lowered my springs to the stock bump stops. Granted, I had tools and building equipment on a smaller trailer and only a single axle so the weight distribution is different as compared with the new tandem trailer with a higher capacity. And also the fact that I had also loaded up the bed F54C153A-2182-41E9-8B72-6705BE56D8AE_1_201_a.jpeg

I have an E2 10,000lb WDH with the round bars. Works really good for my 27' Mallard. No squat, straight and level on a stock raptor.

How noisy is the E2 when turning and backing up? I have not ridden with my brother-in-law while towing, but he said his E2 is noisy due to the anti-sway.

Reese 66560. Works like a champ. Makes a huge difference when pulling my steel decked car hauler loaded. Below is a post I did about the hitch. Truck has stock suspension.

I have used a reese
Reese Strait-Line (66074) 1,200 lb Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Kit

I did not use this on the raptor yet- but on an other car- works fantastic- not only transfers weight but stops all sway.

I know you have a GEN 2, but here my 7000GWR trailer and my HD Reese setup. Only dropped my rear about 3/4" loaded up and that is with a full stock suspension. View attachment 146753

it seems like a lot are using the Reese WDH. I have not read a lot about them. Do they have built-in sway control? Are they noisy when turning sharp or backing up? Do you have to disconnect anything when backing up?

From what I have experienced the only noise I have encountered was between the trailer coupler and the ball hitch. I usually wipe these 2 areas down and the noise is gone. I haven't noticed any noise from the anti-sway friction points but that's not to say that it doesn't happen.

OK, that is good to know as the E2 Roundbars are a lot less expensive than some of the others.

Anyone tow a wakeboard/surf boat without weight distribution hitch? I already have an adjustable hitch and looking at getting a boat and would prefer not dealing with WDH. Trailer weight will be in the 6k -7k range with tandem axle. Boat will be moored on the lake which is less than 5 min from my house. So would only be towing a couple times a year to take it in and out for the summer, plus maybe one trip over the mountains per year 4 hours away. Seems like unless boat is loaded unevenly adjustable hitch is more important, but know WDH is recommended for towing over 5k.

I tow a 6k boat with no WDH very easily and it tows nice. Boat trailers are much different than utility trailers and the tongue weight is usually much less, you really cant even setup a WDH on them.

This. Using a WDH with surge brakes isn’t possible, and the single beam of a trailer tongue make is very difficult to set up. My brother just went through this and had to upgrade from a F-150 to an F-250 to handle the tongue weight on his 9500# boat. The trailer manufacturer specifically excluded WDH usage in their frame warranty.
