Looks like I'm a lucky winner, started hearing the super loud rattle about a week ago. Cold start, 5 seconds or less and it goes away.

Couple questions for you guys before I take it in. 1. Should I un-forscan? 2. Should I remove my JLT single catch can?

Your cam phaser issue is in no way related to Forscan edits or having a catch can installed. I would not remove either one prior to visiting the dealer.

That's what I thought but never hurts to check in with you all. Thank you for the feedback.

No i bought it and installed, 10 mins kinda thing

Im guessing it’s one of those aftermarket splice in jobs. Most use scotch locks, which you clip on to the circuits and snap shut, at which point they cut the insulation and the wire strands. If that’s the case, I’d highly recommend removing that device and repairing the damage. It always comes back to bite you later on.

@FordTechOne I think you mentioned a revision to the cam Phaser parts, my 2019 is waiting on back ordered parts to fix this issue, would the replacement parts be the revision parts?

Do you have new part numbers you can share so I can make sure the job is done once with the new versions?

Since you live in CA, catch cans are deemed illegal by CARB and are not allowed for sale or used in Ca. Says it right on their website too.

Depending on the cool level level of your dealer, you might be ok, you might have an issue. Forscan isn’t an issue.

All 2019's should have had the new phaser part numbers and already have the updated PCM calibration, which is why the TSB does not apply. It's possible you simply got a faulty a faulty one. All of the replacement phasers are the updated "CD" suffix part number that was released for service in mid 2019.
