If you're alone, you can sleep diagonally under a tonneau. I did just that a week and a half ago when it started raining in the night and it was very nice. The best thing is that it's dark. Really dark. I wake up at first light, no matter how little sleep I've gotten. I managed to sleep past dawn and past sunrise under the tonneau. 6:30! Whoo hoo! An extra hour and a half. I think I like it better than a cap for sleeping and way better than a cap for looks.

Yea, not sleeping alone. Got my beautiful bride with me.. :)

Currently shopping around for a Rooftop tent and bed rack (hopefully half height). I came soooo close to getting an iKamper X-Cover but someone beat me to it. If I get a RTT, I’ll keep the Decked.

You're lucky. When my beautiful bride turned 70, she decided she was too old for camping, even car camping. Getting food poisoning at a restaurant in Moab(it was rainy so we ate in town) and spending the night crapping and heaving was the last straw. Plus she is a bad weather magnet. But every cloud has a silver lining. Now when it rains or the bugs join in or it's too hot or too cold or too windy, I don't have to listen to any complaining. And she doesn't mind if I go away for a week or two at a time. She prefers when I go with a buddy, but is OK when I go alone, too. So it works out.

So this happened last night....
Found it on Craigslist just a few minutes after it was posted. Hauled ass down to Superior to pick it up. $2300 for an X-Cover that is in like new condition.

Now I need a bed rack, and I need one quick...

Lucky! Sounds like we’re going similar setups in the end. I’m doing the decked drawers with a low front runner rack. I want just enough clearance to slide the spare tire in the bed. Trying to figure out how I’ll want to mount front runner rails first. I’m in the same boat with a tent though...just waiting for a good one to pop up for sale locally.

Mount it the other way or in the other drawer with the same orientation and someone can get in the other drawer while the cook is busy. As someone who has spent roughly 1500 nights car camping, my number one piece of cooking gear is a portable gas grill. That and a way to boil water and you can do some amazing meals off the tailgate.

That's not a bad idea.
