Do you ever miss the functionality of having the truck bed for normal truck use?

It seems like a good bed cover along with some pack and go boxes accomplishes the same thing but still retains the functionality of the truck bed when you need it. Curious to hear opinions and also from people that have done it what the major advantages/benefits are.

I had it on my last truck, but not this one. I loved it, but decided not to keep it and go a different route. Best way I can describe it is that you gain utility and organization, but loose flexibility. On my current truck, I have the built right panels on the sidewalls to mount most things, and like you mentioned, anything else I can trough in rigid utility boxes and put them in the bed.

That DECKED system is pretty dog-on heavy as well. Then start adding all the stuff that could fit in it, no - I prefer the whole bed.

Is the decked system worth the money?

Personal decision based on how you roll. I prefer plastic tubs for weight saving, space saving, and flexibility, as which tubs go depends on where I'm going and what I'm doing. I also like being able to yank all the tubs and sleep under the tonneau if it starts to rain in the middle of the night and I haven't set up the tent.

I have the Decked on my super duty, not my raptor. Weight is not an issue. I find the accessibility to be the best asset of the system. I have bad knees, back, etc. and getting into the bed poses some degree of difficulty. Being able to drop the tailgate and pull out the drawer to a comfortable height for me to see and retain what I need is worth the cost of admission. I can also park an ATV on top and still have full storage capacity. Can't do that with a toolbox and a short bed.

Thanks for the replies. It seems it’s for individuals and professionals that need ease of access on a pretty frequent basis.
