You flatter me sir, but I don’t believe you. It’s obvious you have a tendency to exaggerate.

I said up to my windows not over them, you obviously don't know what a subaru Forrester xt even is. It is a Japanese version of a jeep.

The redesigned Forrester is like a Rav4 now looks almost identical

I think Subarus are great cars. Recommended an Outback to my Mom, fantastic car, she loves it. Quality, at least from an end-user perspective, seems solid. Good friend has Crosstrek with similar story. Could totally see picking up a WRX as a toy car someday.

That said, I'd like to see a video of any stock-ish Subaru fording up to its windows. When you go that deep, you have to wait for the vehicle to flood before you'll have any traction (if it's not flooded, it's floating). While I think Subaru builds a great car, they didn't design it for that, and that's not a feature that you just accidentally happen to obtain by having a really great design otherwise.

Lezbarus are are the Volvo’s of the off-road scene but they are no beast.

Where did you mount that sweet snorkel kit to keep that big power, water forging beast breathing?

How many miles did you have on the truck? That is a crazy value for a 4 year old vehicle.

I had about 35-40k miles on it. I think the timing of the buyout was ideal. It was early in the Gen 2 model cycle and Gen 1’s were in high demand. Very happy with the result.

My wife has owned two Subaru Outbacks, and my sister has owned two. While they've been decent cars, none have matched the reliability of their Toyotas or Hondas. Having grown up back in the day, 40-50 years ago, when the Japanese built their reputation, neither will touch an American badge with a ten foot pole. Of course, cars from Honda and Acura have the highest American content these days ... kinda funny.

^yep the Insurance companies generally always pay retail for a vehicle when it is totaled. At least you did not have to deal with diminished value or anything like that. I am surprised that they did total it as the value was so high, but sounds like you have a good insurance company behind you.

and LOL at all the LGTPQ PRIDE comments, Yes everyone knows the reputation that Subaru has in the communities guess I thought everyone was beyond stereotypes especially these days. If you want to see what these Foresters can do then go to forums and look. A legend owner over there called GeoJosh has all kinds of cool stuff done to it and his rig will go anywhere any of us can probably more places.
