I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they repair it instead of totaling it; Ford has published frame sectioning and repair information in the Workshop Manual. They even have separate part numbers for each available frame section.

I’m guessing it could be repaired for a lot less than the value of the truck.

Front Frame Section

NOTE: The front frame section on this vehicle is retained by welded lap joints. The frame section will be removed and installed by grinding of the original welded joints, followed by welding of the new section into position.

While I was at a deadstop my Gen 1 was rearended. Damage was to the rear but roughly comparable in intensity. The ins co totalled it and it didn't seem to be a close call. I was a bit surprised but not unhappy. Ended up with a nice check.

How did they do you on value?

they key point is that the sticker was 87K$, purchase price was about 75k$, plus bumpers, LEDs, stereo, tune etc. so I have over 80k in it, then to total is something like 70% of that, on a rear end does seem simpler tho, new rails, less motor electrical, etc to deal with, but could have gotten close to the value.

my adjuster just left me a message, sounds like they plan to fix it, ********.

There is no issue with the “build quality” of these trucks. Even base models have plenty of “standard features”, if you want the luxury and technology features, you have to pay for them, just like any other vehicle.

There is no vehicle on the market at any price even remotely capable of what the Raptor can do. You sound like a troll.

No trolling here, I do that at the lake. I think the truck is great, but at the $60k price point I got it for. The interior panel gaps, the intermittent backup camera, the loose wire harness clips around the engine bay and frame, the loose heat shield over exhaust that rubs on the driveshaft are some of the things I've found on my truck that you just don't find on brands with higher overall quality.

For having fun off road, there is certainly no better option straight from the factory.

Do you work for Ford or are an employee? I ask because you defend this brand relentlessly. I had a Subaru Forrester XT with the turbo and it would go through water up to its windows. I would say with a lite truck tire installed it could go places a Raptor could not. I do not rock crawl but these are expensive trucks and should have better quality than some of the plastic bits and pieces that they put into them. The plastic bits are cheap, break quite easily and does not show quality is job one.

I find ford to the best of domestic brands, these last 2 Raptors are my first American cars since the explorers and expedition, well then crap Navigator, I had in early 2000s, the nav was 04. But the explorers late 90s early 2ks were great, same with my 99 expedition.

I then got an Infiniti q45, what a fantastic car, then an m56s, same, but from 2001 to 2011, the quality really slipped, same with the fx50s i had after that right before the 18 raptor..still great cars, but cheaper quality materials and less attention to detail.

If anything American cars are getting better

In my case I was at a deadstop in traffic and was rearended by someone at speed. Rear bumper was pushed into the frame which caused the frame to get bent up and the tailgate was damaged, and the bed was bent up. Also I was pushed into a car in front in a chain reaction so there was some front damage, but the most damaged was the rear. It seemed repairable and I took it to my dealer and they thought it was repairable, however insurance totaled it.

I had paid $56k OTD in 2014 for my truck which was an 801A loaded SCREW. I got a check for $53.5k in August 2018 after they totaled it. They said they based the value on comparable trucks sitting on dealer lots in the area. I was pretty happy with that and got a 2019.
