cool nice driving. I've been to Thermal a couple times. I competed in that Ult driver thing, beat everyone in my tent by 1.9 sec but I clipped a cone. out! we won a M-roadser in the BMW CCA raffle in 96 and got flow back to spartenburg!

sounds like we need a BMW m car sub-forum on here!

Here’s the vid they made if you have a few minutes to burn. The finish was pretty stressful. Haha.

So I think my first post expressed my feelling fornthe F80 M3 but with that said I have a local dealer ( with whom I am business partners with) has a ( New) 2018 M3 sitting on the back of the lot outside. The story behind the car is one of the old managers put a markup on all the M cars and when it sat for the first year it wouldn't take less than msrp.....then after all last year of it sitting ( small discount taken off ) they just moved it out back.

It has an original msrp of 85,*** and the last number I was given ( while joking with a salesman) was 69,000....I laughed and told him he wasn't gonna sell it locked behind the back. Well that convo took place in January and I just got a call on Monday asking if I would be instead in the car, I laugh and said " you already know I'm not so why did you call me?" He said " my boss gave me the ok to get a deal done by any means so what if I let it go for 59,***

I think the pause in my response gave away my poker face lol.....my my question to you M3 owners is , if I can get it for low to mid 50's should I pull the trigger? After all even though it only has 30mi on it sitting for 2 years can't be that great for a car

If you can get in to an M3 for 59k I consider that a steal. They are great cars especially if you need a back seat. They also mod very well.

Well, as my posts indicate, I'm highly biased. Hell I paid MSRP less $6k in 2017 (but I was doing a factory order for Euro Delivery). I'd say it's a steal, and it has a full new factory warranty. I'd take it for sure.

I take it you autcross a lot? Track ?

I haven’t autocrossed in years and years, never competitively. I do HPDE in a Vette and Porsche a few times a year for fun, only did time trial for a year or so.

The last several years I’ve always been able to hop into a strange car and really get a lot out of it. Chief instructor at Spring Mountain Vette school outside of Vegas told me each time I went to their ZR1 school, Level 2 school, and Level 3 school that I set the student lap record. Then, I signed up for a Cadillac V-Lab deal at COTA and beat a few hundred competitors in their timed autocross in an ATS-V. They said I even beat their instructor reference lap time which apparently almost never happens. Shrug. I’ve never been paid to drive, but I really like pushing cars and making them go as fast as possible. If I had a lot more money, I’d try some wheel to wheel racing for fun.

your a natural!

as far as buying a 2018 M3 for 59k. so this is brand new , sitting around for two years? I would pass especially since the new M3 is coming out - the chassis is much improved and it will have 503hp. BMW dealers used to mark M cars up. BMW has unoffiically told them to knock it of, and really due to the market new cars are selling well under MSRP and without mark ups , same as the Raptor situation

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

This is wild how many of us M guys there are on here.

So here is my story, moved to utah in Jan. 2019 and shipped my 2018 M3 - 6SPD, comp package. Loved driving it through the canyons and mountains out here and flying down to vegas. Coming from the midwest it felt like this was the way the car was meant to be driven and a lot of fun.

I had always wanted one since high school (class of 2003) and that dream finally came true in 2017 when i designed and built my own custom one then shipped it, couldn't swing euro delivery with the amount of travel i was doing at the time.

Well, fast forward to yesterday and I just sold it... and.... I bought a 2020 raptor in the same damn color as the m3.

I already miss the m3 and I hoping that the raptor will fill the hole that the m3 left in my heart, especially living in utah and having access to awesome offroading...

Definitely glad to see I'm in good company with other guys who converted, or lucky guys who get to have both.

Also whoever complains about the sound of the exhaust... come on dude. at least we not driving teslas

cheers
