Components will be your better option honestly. Coax were meant to be in the rear doors not front. I'm sure any aftermarket speaker is significantly better than stock though.

dont do it. lowering the resistance will cause heating issues. the components will run hotter than designed for and will cause premature failure. will probably go into thermal potection first, but that would cause the system to shut down until it cooled down enough to turn on

So when are you moving back to Colorado so I may get my stereo upgraded? :)

You do outstanding work!

can the b and o play louder with a lower ohm speaker ,lets say the stock is 4 ,will a 2 ohms play louder ,since it has less resistance ?

Not to buck the pros, but I have JBLs in my 2018, and they are a 3ohm/high sensitivity driver designed to work with factory head units...many of the Infinitys are the same way. Mine play noticeably louder than stock, and I have had no issues with them.

will it work? absolutely. for how long? couldnt tell you. there are 2 main issues with lowering the ohm load on an amplifier. 1. the power supply has to be able to give the increase in power to the drivers. 2. heat dissapation has to be adequate. based on the oem amp there isnt enough of either. so while it may work, like i said before, may cause premature failure or thermal shutdown if played loud for extended periods of time.

I get it, but JBL/Infinity/Harman design, test, and manufacture these to perform as factory headunit replacement speakers. As you know, impedance actually varies within the speaker based on the frequency going through it. I'm sure you could have problems with many speakers played very loudly for extended periods of time, and I hope hope I'm not jinxing myself.

if I had to guess I’d say you are probably pushing the factory hardware to its limit... but this isn’t any different than an engine tune either... you’re going beyond the engineering safety specs to eek out more performance.

I think you’ll be ok as long as you aren’t pushing it to max volume for long periods every day.
