Anybody use a 3000 psi (2.5 GLM) pressure washer on your wheel wells and/or running boards. Figure I can just add distance on the boards but the wheel wells are bit more tricky. Do you guys see any issues using a 40 degree nozzle. Rear wheel wells are line-x coated.

3000 psi , on a 40 deg nozzle?
You're kidding right?
If you're not, then go ahead and let us know what happens - probably won't be pretty!

I wouldn’t. My nephew did on his Chev running boards and peeled some of the paint off.

3000psi at 2.5 gallons per minute wont be fine. He can get 2.5 gallon per minute pressure washer at 1000-1200psi which is perfect for washing cars.

Where do you find a 2.5GPM rig that can operate at 1000psi? I only see high PSI gas powered units at that GPM. I suppose if you use a super high degree angle nozzle you can bring it down, but to 1000psi?

I`m gonna put my 2 cents worth in, so sorry in advance. Any power washer in the wrong hands can cause damage, 1200 psi @ 1.1 gpm blasting at a electrical commendation is not so good and so on...
I think it becomes a common sense issue, ask the right people and check out all of the videos posted on the net.
I have this in my garage and I have used it to clean vehicles that was up until my brother used it and didn’t drain it and let water freeze and the pump cracked. I also use a 1800 psi 1.4 bpm Karcher and that works just as good
Oh yea the 13 hp Honda powered belt drive is for sale in NJ needs a pump

Krenzle pressure washers and Comet (comet its around 2.1GPM with 4.0 nozzle) you are looking at spending around $1200 for Krenzle with all MTM attachments and around $850 for Comet with all MTM attachments. Google Obsessed Garage he is carrying all the setups.

Thanks Y’all. Just trying to make use our existing household pressure washer. I’m using it for the foam cannon and rinse. I think with the wells, I’ll be getting a little too close for comfort. Nothing a little elbow grease and a brush can’t handle. I have line-x in the rear wells and I’ve seen some bad results with getting a pressure washer too close.

Oh wow, you're not messing around! Nice set up and thanks for the info. I have a 1600 Ryobi that does an ok job (although I have nothing to compare it to) but it's already died once. I'll eventually have to upgrade. Never thought I'd enjoy detailing but it's almost therapeutic!
