So I’m planning on driving to Silver lakes dunes next Saturday (6/13). I watched a few videos online but, I would like to get some advice from some of you who have been there. I plan on taking the family so I won’t be jump 20 feet or drive backwards up dunes. I would like to have some light to moderate fun will all of us in the truck. I’m coming from N/W Indiana so this will be a day trip. Also if any of you care, all fees are waved that weekend.

I would say, air down those tires, put it into sand mode and have fun! Don’t forget, you have to put it back in sand mode every time you start the engine.

I just did dunes for the first time last weekend and it did great, even at normal tire pressure but if I weren’t on crutches, I definitely would’ve aired down.

Have driven on those dunes many times, just be careful when cresting a large dune. If the wind has been a certain direction, sometimes there can be a drop-off on the other side. As above, air down, I go down to 14 psi on the Raptor. Also you need a flag of a certain size and height (I don't remember how high it must be, check website). You will have fun!

If you can't make it up test hill, don't worry, you can go around it. You will have fun watching all the crazy vehicles.
