I picked up a spare set of wheels and 4 rings, Debating on tires for running a true beadlock set. Anyone have positive or negative experiences with any tires besides the factory KO2? I'm Thinking of going to an MT or RT for the real beadlock set...And a pic if you have it.

Thanks

Yes, I know, not DOT approved, asking for a friend.... lol

What’s your use case? beach driving? typical east coast dirt/mud at relatively low speed? How much street driving?

You need to be honest about the last one, but with a 2nd set of wheels, you have more options than most. KO2’s do pretty respectably in beach sand. Can you get better? I’m sure, but at what cost and compromise. If you’re doing more off roading in the mud, than a good set of M/T might be a better choice.

Well, the my engine compartment is brown from mud...tire search has my head spinning...BUT my KO2 are on a 6 tire rotation with the two spares so at 42K miles, I still have decent tread, well decent enough to mount to the true beadlocks and use them for IBSP and the OBX beaches, I am on one of them at least weekly fishing, those are SOFT sugar, the balder the better. SO that is the plan, now I just need new tires, I want something more aggressive, I see mud on occasion, but not enough to justify an MT for that purpose...with an eye on winter performance as winter is in NJ.

head hurts...

You have spare wheels, and x6 so even better. I’d say go with a decent M/T tire - KM3 maybe or similar.

here, on frf
i use a little less known brand. atturo tires. they make a great tire at a very reasonable cost. i currently have their mt tires. i did a write up comparing atturo, bfg, and falkens. after it all, i still use the atturo brand.

No but I have used them on other off-road vehicles. I plan on getting a set for the Raptor and put on the beadlock wheels.......I bought an extra set of rims just dont have the beadlock rings yet. Having problems in this small town finding someone to mount BL's.
