I seem to still be on Sync 3.3 and I'm under the impression that at some point Ford intends to officially allow all relevant 2019 Raptors to get a 3.4 update, of course, that may be incorrect. Has anyone here received an official update on their 2019? If not, do we have any *official* word on if/when this might happen? I'll temper my interest in a manual update based on the official answers.

On a very related note, I have a menagerie of problems with CarPlay:
  • Phone won't load/connect sometimes
  • [solved] Volume wouldn't respond (solved by deleting Waze, which I don't use/like anyway)
  • [partly solved] Music.app just randomly starts when connecting sometimes. I don't use that app, ever (exclusively Spotify and various Podcast apps). I think this is an iOS problem, but who knows. I had that OEM album from U2 until today, which I've now deleted, so hopefully the fact that my library is literally completely empty will prevent the app from activating.
  • Podcast app won't load properly. This is clearly a Sync/Carplay problem - I can use the phone itself to begin playing a track and it works, but various menu screens from Sync are oddly blank/rendered broken. I can see the dancing bars in the upper right on a totally blank screen if I, for example, try to change to a different track using the Sync UI. As someone who primarily listens to podcasts this is infuriating - the single most useful feature is mostly broken!
  • UI is crazy slow.
I'm hoping 3.4 will include general bugfixes that might make my life better.

Forgot to mention I used the 2 USB method. Did the format first then the actual update. It took roughly 27 minutes to complete. I like it.

I can’t comment on your CarPlay concerns. I’m certain someone will see this and offer some advise. Perhaps...the update to 3.4 will help.

I also did the 3.4 update to my 19 802A. Some nice things like night mode but also a few bugs like the text message prompt not clearing from the screen after reading/hearing it via Sync, Carplay volume only adjusts the prompt volume not the radio volume, etc. Used the 1 USB method from ApeA from F150Forum.

I performed the upgrade a couple weeks ago. Had the same flavor of Sync as you. No issues.

My only concern was the reformat portion of the tutorial and possibly “bricking” my system. However...the risk/reward was worth it.

Are you guys seeing 3.4 UI be substantially faster? My 3.3 / 19052 seems "reasonably" quick, although the initial nav map load takes way too long at startup.

How do I know which Sync version I have? (Dumb question probably)
