Been searching all morning to try to find this answer and zero results. Only coming back with headlight alternatives and LED light accessory packages.

Looking at buying a '19 and was wanting to know if anyone knows the lifespan of the OEM LED headlights. I checked into the replacement which is only the entire unit at the cost of a bit over $1000 each through Tasca and $1700 each through the dealership.

Thanks.

I recall viewing a video created several years ago by a Ford engineer that stated the OEM LED headlights were designed to last the life of the vehicle.

LEDs last a LONG TIME. If there is a failure then they will fail immediately. You are worrying about the one item on the truck that will last the longest.

LEDs will outlive halogen BUT they do have a life expectancy. And honestly, nobody can tell you precisely how long. LED have only been around a few years now, at least in the automotive world. In residential they've had a LOT of changes over the years also. As for automotive, i'd say LEDs have only been really strong the last 5 years, with the last 1-2 years REALLY becoming more popular with OEM.

Sooo it's tough to say. If your LED does burn out, you can replace the assembly without replacing the entire unit. I'm pretty sure there is an LED module you can replace. So that saves you cash.

But if you are in the market to upgrade, the OEM LED are horrible. Ford did win awards when they first came out, but as time went on and people started using them, they saw how bad the OEM LED were. SURE it's better then halogen but lacks a LOT of output still. We'll see improvements in years to come.

I would not worry too much about them. The Raptors come with them so it's not like you have much choice, other then replacing them with an aftermarket.

Right now we sell the Morimotos and AlphaRex which are compatible with the OEM LED system (both give you the wiring harness) and you get a lot more output. Sooo as I said, when the time comes they fail, just go the aftermarket route instead of OEM.

I'm glad this topic came up. I have a 2017 and I think the Headlights are horrible at night. Even the High Beams are horrible. Just to note, they are stock.

Anyone else feel the same way or know what Headlights I can change them out with for better vision?

I havent had any issues with the headlights but the side markers are another story... from personal experience I've noticed the side markers (on the edges, middle ones dont seem to have this issue, at least not what I've seen) are prone to moisture seeping inside the housing. I've already had 1 fail on me. The part itself can range from $60-$100 depending on where you get it. They are super simple to replace though

agreed! My 2013 HIDs were brighter than my 2019 LEDs. I just assumed LEDs as headlights were just bad in general until I purchased my 2018 M2 which has LED headlights. My M2 headlights simply destroy the raptor headlights. The M2 low beams are brighter than the Raptor high-beams.

I regularly get flashed when using my m2 low-beams and I respond accordingly by flashing my high-beams. :)

Huh. 1500 miles and I haven't driven in the dark yet. I guess I won't hold my breath. As to LED life in general, it depends on how hard they're driven and how well heat is dissipated. If it's a conservative design, 20,000 - 40,000 hours of use will cause output to drop by about half.
