My truck does not have any holes in the bumper at all. Just 2 small indentions where you would drill for a license plate bracket. Maybe it depends what state they are shipping to.

Odd that they would make 2 different bumpers based on state law.....maybe you just have a "defect". :)

You wouldn't have to make 2 bumpers, just one would get drilled out if needed depending on the build.

The bumpers are made 3rd party so they would have to provide two versions to Ford. Ford can't drill them out onsite or the holes would expose raw metal. Post a pic of your unicorn bumper.

I had looked at my bumper last night and it looked like there were just dimples, like the car bumpers have in this state. I saw as I was taking the picture that the metal bumper is actually drilled, but there is black plastic behind the hole.

It is a piece of rubber trim that moves out of the way if rivet then bracket on or plug the holes.

I hate how dealers install these things

Better than my dealer who installed it with metal screws instead of the factory plastic rivets. Had to touch up paint around the hole just a little bit and then used small plugs.
