I might just throw some split loom on them and call it a day. I think the only real concern would be that you rub a hole in brake lines. *shrug*

that happened to me on my ’97 Mustang Cobra running the Cobra R wheels with stainless braided lines. I was lucky enough to have the presence of mind to pull the e-brake and coast over to the next stopping area.

If you look at their page, they have a pic showing it.

note they do cheat that mount to one side as well.

It’s bourbon time. I’m dreading loosening and putting the diff shield on, but the hard part is done.

Torque arm is legit. you give up nothing by way of ground clearance anywhere. You’re planted and your traction is better.

I’m thankful I have no dog in this fight. Lord knows, I’ve wasted money on products that just were half baked enough to feed a small village.

based on the above posts, this torque arm is a mess and comes with way more problems than it solves. And the helpful gentleman, aside from the reporter of the problem @lateralis, at Ford Raptor Lights, is absolutely no substitute for the actual seller remaining silent. That’s enough to make me puke. The excuse of a casting change sounds like a crock of bull.

The torque arm is worth the money, and I’m sure Krazy House will take care of everyone affected. When it comes to aftermarket parts it’s impossible for the manufacturers to anticipate these sorts of changes in production.

It just happened to me and wish I would have found this thread earlier. In any event I’m not that mad about it since the torque arm works. I installed it in my driveway and though there are parts of the install I wish were easier going at it alone, they really have done a nice job putting it together and the damn thing is solid. So I sent Steve an email, will replace my seal, and put it right back on once they provide the fix.

So I got some quality time in the sand yesterday, ranging from SUV ok stuff to deep, soft sand. Last year I got some pretty pronounced wheel hop in the deep sand. No such drama this year. Even ham ****** throttle mashing just resulted in smooth forward motion.

once I get the revised front diff shield bracket I’ll fit it and finally put this mod to bed.

I’m definitely liking the new found traction.

I ended up just using some 3/4" od heater hose I had laying around to wrap up the brake lines. I didn't see any rub marks from the arm but better safe than sorry. I didn't feel like bending the **** out of that brake line bracket and the hard lines.

The added traction I've seen in the loose dirt is just like you said @smurfslayer. So nice not having the tail bounce around anymore. Just some squatting and sliding now.

Any update on this guy's? I am still waiting on my torque arm assembly and I know Steve is working on the fix, but they are short staffed due to flu bug stay at home crap. Has anyone heard anything more?

Not here, it was several weeks ago the some kind of template was going to be made and sent to those that have purchased a torque arm to see if they needed a different part, shield bracket I think was the issue.

Haven't heard a peep.

yeah, same here. I noticed the shield install was close to the pinion and appeared to have the same gap as the previous pics over the pumpkin, so I removed the lower shield and front mount.

Honestly, just install the torque arm, the diff shield isn’t needed.
