‘19 MY. Anyone else having issues with FordPass not updating?

It was working great every time that I’ve used it until yesterday when I loaded it up and it hadn’t been updated since Sunday. I looked up on ways to fix it (restarting/uninstall/reinstall app, reboot phone, remove/readd vehicle, pull fuse, Sync master reset, etc.) and still not working. Only thing I haven’t tried is disconnecting the battery. As a matter of fact, after I removed the vehicle from the app, it won’t activate the vehicle anymore.

I looked under settings and also noticed that my modem number is just blank now. I could’ve sworn there used to be a set of numbers there.

Anyone have any remedies? Going to head to the dealer on Monday and see what they can do.

I never signed up for the hotspot but I took a look at the settings nonetheless and messed with that but still no luck.

The odd thing that I noticed though was that when I was messing with the hotspot settings, first, the “updating screen” doesn’t go away, two, I’m able to SOMETIMES make adjustments to the password, SSID, etc. and other times it’ll say that the hotspot feature is not enabled in the vehicle.

Ford pass defaults to the hotspot so for sure, disable it if your not using it. Mind you, the hotspot is different than connecting it to your home WiFi. Make sure your truck is running when you disable it

I thought I’d give an update on my situation for anyone having issues with FordPass.

First trip to dealership was a week and a half ago, hung out for 7 hours for an alignment and for them to end up ordering a new TCU/modem after being unable to resolve the issue via updates, etc.

Part came in a few days after my first visit and I took my truck yesterday. Spent 9 hours this time, TCU replaced, but tech was having issues with the truck not updating even after contacting Ford “hotline.” Eventually got the truck back with SiriusXM/hotspot/FordPass not working. I was told they’re waiting for Ford “hotline” to give them another solution and that they’ll call me back in.

I’ll update again once I go back in. Hopefully third times a charm.

As promised, an update.

Took it in today and third time was a charm! Once the tech finished, he came out and explained to me what was done. He told me that this was a first time issue for them and that Ford provided him with a new coding that he inputted into my truck and that if it worked, Ford would be implementing that code for all vehicles with similar issues. I gave it a run and it worked! FordPass now has all my trucks info and hotspot is back up and running.

Reviving this thread. I have noticed my truck has not had communications with Ford Pass since April and I too have the blank Onboard Serial Modem Number issue. Reseated the fuse in passenger side and confirmed all connections to TCU are secure. Guess a trip to the dealer is in store for me.

Hi, Can I ask what fuse you checked. I live in Belgium and I have not so much information about the car and the manual is not showing me to the correct fuse. Thx
I can't connect to ford pass because my TCU is not sending info to ford servers ( that's what ford pass Europe says)

Also, go into your Sync system to Settings>Vehicle>Onboard Modem Serial Number and let me know if it displays a serial number for your modem. If it does, you most likely need to reset the app, if not you're in the same boat I am.
