Looking to purchase 2020 raptor - Interior Rattle

I never use mine, in fact I keep the sun shade closed nearly all the time. I wouldn't hesitate to get one without.

I didn’t get a sunroof on my Gen 1 or Gen 2 because it is just one more thing to potentially go wrong, which sours your experience of vehicle ownership. If you don’t ever open your sunroof, then definitely do not get one.

I think sunroofs have gotten to be an age related thing for a lot of people. When I was younger I always had my sunroof open or T-Tops out, drive around and smoke a little weed (I never inhaled!), blast the tunes, good times. Now, it seems keep the a/c on, nice and quiet, be comfortable, medium loud tunes, is the way to go. I know a few young guys I'm friends with thought I was insane for not getting a sunroof when they knew it wasn't a cost consideration.

Wish it was still an option on my 2020 SCAB !! The only thing I don’t love about my new truck !! But at least I won’t have to ever worry about strange sounds ....

I test drove one with the roof and it was rattling. As a former tech, I highly recommend against them. Lots of ways for them to have issues, possibility of drains clogging up, loss of rigidity in cab, especially in an off road truck, and they are not as safe in a rollover, especially with as heavy as the 150s are.

The rattle noise from the sunroof is easily resolved with a simple maintenance procedure.

Ford released the following TSB for the issue; all it requires is applying Krytox Weatherstrip lubrication to the roof opening panel weatherstrip seal.

Summary

This article supersedes TSB 19-2374 to update the vehicle model years affected.

Issue: Some 2015-2020 F-150, 2017-2020 F-Super Duty and 2018-2020 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a rattle and/or squeak noise from the vista roof opening panel while driving with the roof opening panel closed. This may be due to dirt and/or debris build up between the vista roof opening panel seal and the body. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to clean and lubricate the vista roof opening panel seal.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet the following criteria:

• One of the following vehicle lines:

- 2015-2020 F-150
- 2017-2020 F-Super Duty
- 2018-2020 Expedition/Navigator

• Customer symptom of rattle and/or squeak from the vista roof opening panel while driving

I've been having a rattle not sure if it was something I have in the truck but maybe it's the roof issue I'll have to check that it does kinda squeak when closing.
