Here is an example...the L83 and L83HD, I assume this is what everyone calls a +3 but nothing tells you what is different about the HD unit...the descriptions are identical both 12 leaf packs and if you select the spring for the "details" they both say the same thing.

https://deaverspring.com/product-category/leaf-springs/ford/

HDs sag less when you load up the bed. Your link sort of implies that +3HDs only lift the rear an inch. Somewhere I read that they lift the rear by 2". I haven't been able to verify that either way. Deaver may make good springs, but their documentation leaves a bit to be desired ...

What is the difference between doing say a +2HD Deaver vs a +3HD Deaver and a 1" drop shackle? Any benefits?

Great question and I have the same one...trying to think through it, everyone states the aftermarket shackles are better so plus there in twist / quality and a taller spring should be a little longer and / or have a greater "bend" or arch to it which can be good or bad as it typically increases the spring rate to be stiffer. Longevity higher arched seem to suffer more but all just crazy thoughts running through my head from reading...I am not a spring maker! Hopefully someone with more info will educate us!

Ok, I’d like to throw another facet to this post. I am adding a FabFour premium bumper with a 12K winch. It will add approx 295 lbs on the front. Planning on measuring before and after for drop, and use that as a guide on how to proceed. Question is how will the weight affect handling? Also how would the new Eibach’s affect ride and handling if I upgrade after the bumper/winch pkg? Thanks folks!

Wow 300lbs dead on the nose has to affect performance/handling somewhere. I’d say the Eibach’s would be a must in this situation to help offset this mod.

My biggest question to those who have new front springs is the Off Road handling on the 2019 over the factory spring rates.
One of my crazy thoughts is to not do front springs, but to have the live valve shocks revalved more to my liking.. Has anyone else have this idea? If so, did you and???

My eibachs are going on tomorrow.

Measure 40” to the center of the front fender flare. I’ll measure after installed.

550 bucks installed and alignment was my quote.

Would you recommend the shop you had do the work? I'm in the Cities and looking for someone to trust.
