Hi everyone,

Currently have a 2019 and absolutely love it. After doing some events @ texplex and talking with other folks, I’d like to change to a gen 1. This way I can mod it up and get a dedicated track car.

I’ve read a ton about what to look for in gen 1s and found a couple good ones by me.

Things I’m looking look for:

Bed cab alignment(making sure it’s even and straight with back window)
Fuse 27
Last shock rebuild(probably going to go for 3.0s at some point)
Checking skid plate for dmg
Bump stops
Shocks for leaking
Rocker panel rust *

Heres my question;

Below are pictures of one I saw today, the rocker panel brackets seem to have rust.. is this ok?

If there is anything else I should look out for that I’m missing please let me know.

Added some other pics I took - 14’ 1 owner ~85k miles.

There is a low mileage (~28k) garage kept blue 2014 for sale on facebook that has a Livernois 6.6 / Whipple build that put out 660+rwhp on low boost and 750+ rwhp on higher boost. Both with pump gas. $40k into the engine build. Otherwise stock. The guy is only asking $45k for it.

Biggest's (screen name here) truck is also for sale. Extremely well built truck.

You will save a LOT of money in the long run buying a pre-built truck.

Just my two cents.

Thats a good point, I am just always so hesitant on heavily modded trucks/cars.. just prefer to do it myself my own way.

With my budget that seems a bit out of scope + i love that 6.2 V8

Yep. I definitely get it. That's why it hasn't sold yet. But the truck is otherwise bone stock and in like new condition. It also has very low miles on an engine package from a very reputable shop...

I would buy it myself except my truck is otherwise very much NOT stock (would take a bath on resale unless someone wanted my exact build) plus I had already ordered my own 6.6 from Livernois when I saw it for sale.

I'm tempted to buy it anyway but I want to wait and see what Ford does with the next Gen Raptor. Or if they don't do something soon enough I will just pull the trigger on a Coyote truck and do a street build.

so hold up that truck is running a 2.9l blower on top of a 6.6l motor and “only” putting out ~700? Seems super low. Would also be curious if the trans and rear end were beefed up to help handle that much motor.

EDIT:Went back and looked and yeah it’s 750rwhp which should be close to 1k at the crank which seems about right.
