I'm bored so I looked through the garage sale section, finally found the group buy thread for the torque arm, saw at least one member installed them, and was about to post and saw the thread was locked.

Why?

Is there a thread about it that I missed where multiple members who bought posted about their satisfaction or dissatisfaction?

How the hell did it go? Enquiring minds need to know.

Start reading from here to the end. some of the group buy guys including myself are talking about it from page 8 on.

The group buy is long closed. I just got it installed this past week, under not ideal circumstances. I did not install the diff shield based in large part on the difficulty others had with the diff shield bracket hitting the pinion and my observation of a gap between the top cradle and diff housing.

I haven’t been able to induce wheel hop since the install

I knew the group buy was long closed, and mercifully so apparently. Live and learn, but thankfully @lateralis raised the necessary alarm. What a real cluster ****.

A point of clarification. The controversy results from the front diff shield mount, not the torque arm itself.

As Ricky said to Lucy, ‘splain, Lucy.

I’m assuming the diff shield mount is part of the truck and the torque arm is coming in contact with it but shouldn’t be?

2. Also, am I understanding your posts that if you don’t relocate or bend what is holding the brake lines they are potentially damaged?

You I think show a pic of the maker of the arm where you say they show something moved to the side a bit?

Right. There is an upper brake line bracket that connects metal lines to long, flexible rubber lines. These rubber lines naturally assume an “s” or inverted “s” shape. The objective of bending the bracket is to coax the rubber lines to not droop towards the front and rub the torque arm at normal suspension sag or compression. Rubber brake lines rubbing against or impacting hard parts will eventually lead to a line failure and loss of braking.

the diff shield is optional, and mounts to the two axle clamps in the rear, and in the front via the front bracket already well pictured by @lateralis. Pull the diff shield and front mount and no risk of pinion damage

I got mine installed. The thing works great!

Though I usually do my own installation work I cheated and had off-road alliance install mine since they're local to me and I was headed to Durhamtown RTO immediately that night.

Yeah put mine on with the shield and it caused damage to the pinion seal. Is there a fix for this coming from Krazy house outside of not using it. From the looks of it I can clearance the top mount so it has enough room to avoid the seal.

I heard there was a revised front mount when I called. I don’t have tools to whack the front mount, it’s very stout.
