8k set up............?

How do the ball joints & tie rods look? Wonder if running the 37”s w/ level maybe causing em to chew up quicker & maybe resulting in some of the loss in ride quality? I’d check those over & whatever other suspension/sway bar bushings & links are under there before I’d assume you “need” leaf springs- doubtful they’d be worn out in less than 100k miles.

I have a gearhead tune, 24k miles on my ‘18, no issues although I may have heard a cam phaser rattle the other day I’m not concerned about- personally I wouldn’t have kept the truck 50k let alone 1/2 that WITHOUT running a decent tune- it changes the character of the truck that much.

‘Love my 2017 raptor. 50,000 miles. But I’m a little annoyed with minor issues. My truck sounds like a 150 year old barn door opening when I go over minor bumps. Maybe new leaf springs? I ran into the upgrading to 37’ toyo tires..rubbing. The sun roof is jammed and needs fixing.. breaks are about finished..

Not too many issues, but now it’s time to get better quality products that Ford can’t provide for me..

I need advice for new Fox shocks!

Let me know where you can do all that for $8k? Heck, just the Fox shocks run $5-6k. Brakes $5k+. Bumpers $1-3k....each.

Holy crap^^^^^^. No idea what all those do but look pretty cool. When would someone do this? When doing serious off roading? Do the ride improve that much to justify when only doing light-medium off roading?


IMO 95% of driving raptor owners do can be accomplished with the factory components. But that’s not the game here. A Prius will get you from point A to B. But we bought raptors cause we are all about that excessive life.

These parts yes are overkill for stock, but once you start adding bigger tires, better shocks and pushing things a little more these do drastically improve ride capability

and yeah they look cool as shit...trust me I don’t NEED to run 39s but I’m going through the pain of trying because I want to be mf excessive... haha

The way 2020 is going I might just be on track. Next is the .50cal out the sun roof on a gimbal. Nothing like cappin zombies through some whoops at 100mph

The only thing I’ll need then and is an umbrella org sticker... haha

I would caution OP to slow down and do a lot more research before spending a lot of money. Best way to do that is talk to actual owners of these mods. Maybe even catch a ride in their truck(s).

If your only goal is to feel like you are riding on a cloud and you don't want any noise, then aftermarket shocks might not be what you want. You may be better off with just a new set of factory shocks. Yours are probably tired. Basically new take offs can usually be had for ~ $700 or so. And perhaps a set of Deaver +2s and aftermarket stock length shackles if you are getting noise from the rear. The heavier 37s are probably hurting your ride, too. The extra weight makes your suspension work harder. And they are probably a higher load rating than your stock tires, too, which means they ride much more harshly. You can try airing them down but they will likely never ride as well as the OEM C rated 315/70R17s.

Again, I really wouldn't recommend going down the suspension road without more research. Especially about the sound of bypasses.
Completely agree, my intention in the recommendation I gave was to shed light that there are far more options out there and to focus those funds toward parts that will aid in the goal. So yeah highly recommend digging into the threads to find out what each of those parts does, but remember as you start replacing big items, shocks, tires, leafs there are other supportive/complementary parts that should be upgraded as well.
