I didn't like how it was so difficult to get to. I found by raise the hood once you pop the hood release it gives you a little bit more room and along with that I put a slight bend up in the tab and that has helped a lot. I hope this helps you out

I like the idea of putting a slight bend it. That was one of my first thoughts, but thought I would ask. Being a piece of angle, it makes for a difficult bend.

I wrapped mine with tape near the back and lightly grabbed it with vise grips just to hold it in place, and then slowly lifted on the front. I didn't go up very much but it really made a difference

Yup... I got my new Gen2 home a few weeks ago and went to pop the hood and had a real WTF moment. At least I know where it is now.

One of the greatest features of a BMW. My M235i is the same. So easy, should be mandatory on all cars. Of course the stupid double door pull to open the door and double start button push to turn the car off is annoying as hell.

@Don S What about a zip tie around the latch?
Mine does not require a double pull on the door, nor does it a double tap on start button to turn off.

Why were you trying to find the latch with a fleshlight??!! I thought they normally were used for something very different!

I knew I could leave it to you to correctly read what I purposely typed.

I had one years ago but in the end no amount of washing could make it pristine again, so in the garbage it went. Hmm, wonder if I can get an Amazon Alexa subscription so I can just have new ones dropped off every 30 days.

I did a search and didn't find anything. This may sound silly, but I have fat Flintstone hands and find it very difficult to reach the lever under the hood. I can only get one finger on the lever and it's difficult to manipulate. Has anyone modified the lever...... before I look at doing something with it.

I slid a one inch piece of 3/4" radiator hose over the lever, but it blocked it from moving all the way right to left.

I didn't think to give a serious suggestion to you when I read this the other day. Do you know you can lift the hood open almost another inch from where it pops open to when you pull the inside release? I have XXL hands and I have plenty of room to get to the latch once you tug up on the hood. It's heavier than you would think. It's the first hood I've seen where you need to almost double open it. Get your fingertips under the lip and tug it up, I think you'll find you have plenty of room.

Interesting, every BMW I’ve owned required a double door handle pull from the inside handle. First unlocks, second opens.

Yep, made sure I checked. I put my hand on the handle with my fingers wrapped around and it opens right up.
