I think I am a little qualified to make a comment or two. In 2011 I ordered a Gen1 Scab in Tuxedo black. Got it in January of 2012. Kept it for 6 years. Loved it. I thought I had to have a Gen2 so I sold the Gen1, one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. Only had 6k miles and was in perfect condition.

I ordered the Gen2 Scab in October and got it in February 2019. Magnetic. Beautiful truck. I think they are the best looking trucks ever made. But I just didn't like the V6, fake exhaust noise, and plastic oil pan (I know they changed them later). So I sold it.

In the summer of 2019 Dodge offered a rebate of $10 off for every horsepower. That meant a Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye could be had for nearly $8k off. I ordered one in August and got it in November. Granite Pearl. Paid $70k out the door. Taxes included.

I am 67 years old and have had fast muscle cars all my life. Super Duty Trans Am's, Vettes, Z28's, Super Bees, etc. But none even hold a candle to the Redeye. It will run circles around any of them. You have to adjust your whole driving style. You can get sideways just pulling into traffic. The word I use to describe it to everyone is "explosive". It amazes me anyone even a 16 year old could walk into a dealer and buy one. They should require a special license. I wonder how many are wrecked? I recommend every one at least take a test drive. A phenomenal car that I drive daily. And one I will keep a long time. Not a problem so for.

As for the TRX I can't wait to see and drive one. If the engine is similar to the Redeye then I will have to have one. My dealer will sell me one at his cost.

I loved the way the Gen2 Raptor looks. Like I said, best looking truck ever. But I know I am an old **** and I will never buy another truck that does not have a V8. So if Ford ever wants my business again they had better listen to a large section of buyers. Doubtful.

Terrific punctuation

It will be a great engine inside a crappy truck...just like every other Fiat.

I don't know about any other Dodge vehicles but the fit and finish on my Challenger is second to none. The paint job is the best I have ever seen on any vehicle, American, Japanese, or European. So slick and so smooth. Maybe it's just mine but it's equal or better than anything I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot.

Guys...I find this thread especially interesting considering that there is no winning or losing here for us consumers. American truck manufacturers wage a constant war of balancing offering the most desirable/exclusive model while still maintaining market share and profitability. As of today, the Raptor has no direct competition. If RAM approves the Rebel TRX for production with 700+HP, do you think Ford won't respond in kind? They have the newly developed 5.2 GT500 engine at bay; there is no way they are going to let RAM take their market share. As far as cost, as someone else mentioned (forgive me), both trucks will likely be close to $100K.

The Power Wagon is closer to the newly introduced 2020 F-250 Tremor, and the Rebel is akin to a more aggressive FX4. Both are very nice products, especially the interiors. GM has the ZR2 Bison, but nothing for their full size trucks. Only a fool would give consideration to the poseur import manufacturers with their "****" and " PrO-4x" decals; they are not only an inferior and uncompetitive product, but just an all out joke.

I think you’ll be able to get a TRX for under 100 no problem. Like another gentleman said he got a red eye for 70 tax and title..one of my co-workers who has a 13 raptor supercharged 37s pretty much a trophy truck with everything he has done recently bought a red eye at a really low price I think 72ish. If I remember he got the red eye for like 12k under invoice and absolutely loves it. I understand they are different vehicles TRX/red eye but my point is you can get a 707hp hellcat engine well below invoice.

Like you said competition helps us all. If the video above is true there will be a 7.0 n/a TR and a hellcat TRX..ford should follow suit and give two engine options. I believe that to be the smart move..let the consumers decide.

It's kinda fun to watch fanboys. Reality is that all makes have their strengths and weaknesses. I've owned Chevy, Toyota, Dodge, Nissan, and Ford pickups. All were good in some ways and poor in some ways. I will say that, over the last 40 years, if you wanted a mid-size pickup you should have bought Japanese and if you wanted a full-size truck you should have bought American. I don't claim to know if that's still true today. I do think my new Raptor drives the best of any of them by far, but then it's a much newer design and it's got all that tech ... so it ought to be better. Locking into the mindset that one make rules and the others drool reduces your options. I looked at everything available before I bought this Ford. Had my priorities been a bit different, I could easily have gone a different direction and been perfectly happy.
