TRX throwing shade at the Raptor

oops I was looking at a power wagon. I guess its really about 100lbs between the rebal and raptor.

I have zero loyalty to Ford, especially after some of the reliability issues I’ve had within the first year of ownership. However, I can’t imagine it will be as well rounded. I have this truck because I can fit all my friends (with gear) in it going up into the mountains at over 10k ft altitude, do some serious off-roading, towing/hauling and do it all while getting almost 18MPG! I can’t imagine a TRX will do this all. It will cost more out of the box, more to maintain and maybe twice as much at the pump (judging by how the PowerWagon gets about 10MPG).


Besides, who can calmly take a $100k vehicle and beat it to death off-road??

I had a Gen 1 with the 6.2 liter motor and it is a solid v8 motor with lots of low end, which is important to a Truck. I never go over 14 mpgs and that was straight highway. I looked at a power wagon and almost bought it but it was too funky to me and it can return 15-17 mpg with the cylinder deactivation. I would never see 18 from it like the 18 Raptor but good mileage is possible in a v8, look at the new GMC Elevation/ Chevy Trail Boss. Which are great looking trucks IMO

I betcha it costs a lot less to buy: a basic ram, a hellcat crate, upgrade to a legit short course kit, long-travel front, glass, and wheels/tires.

And it'll destroy a trx and be able to pull off 2wd.

Take a look at what the demons went for. No way that there isn't some stupid markup.

That much power on a truck and beyond, will be so expensive to insure. People will be rolling that shit like mustangs take out spectators.

I traded a 2010 F-150 for my 2019 Raptor, and my insurance went down...
