Hey fellas,

I did a search and didn't see anyone else having this issue. Lately, when I connect my iphone, the Sync3 volume stays locked to "Prompt Volume" and doesn't let me adjust the "Audio Volume". For those that don't know, the Prompt Volume controls volume for navigation or Siri prompts while Audio Volume controls music and other audio volume.

This means, I can't adjust the volume of my music that comes through CarPlay. I litterally have to disconnect the phone, turn on the radio, and adjust the audio volume there. Then I can reconnect the phone and play my music.

So far I've tried removing my phone from the Sync3 settings and removing Sync3 from my CarPlay settings and reconnecting them. Also, Sound & Haptics "Change with Buttons" is already disabled.

Any thoughts, ideas, or smart ass quips that will at least make me laugh about this??

It’s odd but I have also had that issue once or twice (ironically this morning in the second time)....I haven’t found anything to remedy it. It’s a rarity, yes, but sync 3 does some odd and funky stuff from time to time for no reason. My wife had the same issue a few times over the last two years in here 2019 expedition.

I have just dealt with it. Turning the car off and on again has been the only thing that I’ve done that has remedied it the two times it has happened to me.

Yeah, I've been seeing people say it's happening a lot lately. For me it seems to be when Waze is running.

If you hit the voice button or ask siri something and cancel it, I think it will go back to normal

That just started happening on mine only when waze is running. Must have been a waze update or something. I just checked and Waze sent out a update 2 days ago.

This exact same thing started happening to me 2 days ago. It’s only when CarPlay is on and Waze is open. I tried resetting Sync and it didn’t work. Only thing that works is closing Waze. Super annoying.

Send a message to waze. I would think theyd get it fixed relatively quickly since it just started with their recent update.

(I just did this)

Same issue that started two days ago. Prior to that it was perfect with no issues.

Also just reported to Waze.

Anybody know if a battery disconnect will help? Someone above said restarting Sync 3 didn't help....so prob not.
