My 2019 Raptor down shifts randomly on the display from 10 gears to other lower random gears for no reason. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

normal. with 10 gears, the optimal RPM range for each gear is very small. it will skip gears up and down to get you in the best gear for your throttle application and many other factors.

Just let it do it's thing.

And welcome. Post a picture or we think you have a Prius!!!

I understand however; the when the gear reduces it locks out as if I was manually shifting myself on the shift knob. There have been times I'm traveling at 70+ mph and I look down and I'm limited to 4th or 5th gear until I manually shift back to having all 10 gears available. This has been happening ever since I purchased the truck and the dealer could not identify the problem.

This is a feature called Select-Shift. It allows you to lock out gears, similar to the “Overdrive Off” button on older vehicles.

When you are in Drive (not “M”), pulling a shift paddle or depressing the “-“ button on the shifter will lock out gears one at a time. If you rest your hand on the shifter or shift paddles, you may be inadvertently locking out high gears.

I have a 2018 and just recently while traveling at 80ish she down shifts to around 5th gear and it feels awful. It has done it a few times now and is in the shop but they cannot seem to replicate.

Ford has a Technical Service Bulletin out that pertained to abrupt downshifts on my GEN1. I don't know if that TSB pertains to GEN2, but it would sure be worth verifying one way or the other.

Ruger, can you share that TSB. I just spent $1700 replacing a valve in my 2014 transmission. It downshifted from 6th to 3rd at 60 mph, then the truck acted like 1-3 gear wasn't available Ford told me the recall for this issue only covered prior years for the Raptor. Now I have a PCM issue for the trans that is going to take another $1440 to fix. For 2013 and older models: Recall #19S07 6R80 "SUDDEN TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING"

Are you having the dealer diagnose it?

It’s extremely unlikely that you had both a valve body and PCM failure at the same time. Sounds like gross misdiagnosis.

Do you have details such as DTCs and the diagnostic steps that were performed? Sounds to me like a lead frame issue causing a loss of speed sensor input to the PCM.

Same here dear , it entered dealer three times and now second time they are pulling down the transmission, what you mentioned it just what i had in the beginning and then became worse.
They replaced the valve body , and then the make an inspection when the trany down from the car they replace control asy and update program , i took for only two days and return back to them now they said going to driven plates with clutch.
I hope this time it will succeed even though i already disappointed from the car quality specially powertrain.

Yes, the truck has only been serviced by a Ford Dealership.

For the valve:. Transmission diagnosis P0771 - replaced valve body / lead frame, bulk head connector - programmed shift strategy. This incident that caused this happened March 19th. Ford was closed the next day until May. I was able to have it towed to them May 11th, which is when the swapped the valve body.

June 10th I took it in for the check engine light. Tech found code P0636 Internal PCM failure. Replacement cost is $1415.00. The reprogram lasted less than 24 hours as the check engine light was on the next time I started the truck after leaving the dealership.
