I was under the impression the COBB did not require a tune on the 2018's. Is that correct?

My sample of one says 2018s don’t require. Installed the Cobb a couple of days ago on my 18 without issue; not throwing codes.

Any idea why? What code does it throw?

I forget the exact code, but it’s not an issue unique to COBB, it’s all of them. AFE Power will send out some in-line plastic pieces to anyone with a CEL with their intakes.

Apparently the 2018+ trucks are just less sensitive to the change in airflow/direction with aftermarket intakes.

Anyone on here living in CA have the Roush installed? I’m thinking of ordering one but recall reading somewhere it’s not CA legal?

That's correct. 2017 only requires a tune for COBB CAI to avoid a CEL.
I wonder if that pertains to the Raptor itself or the year? I have the COBB CIA on my 17 3.5 xlt and it has never thrown a CEL. Been on for over a year now.

It may only be on the 3.5 HO vs the standard 3.5. I also am under the impression that it’s a sporadic issue. Some trucks are more sensitive than others.

That’s so odd. I considered taking off the AP since I just have it at stage 1+ but just don’t hoon much anyway and warranty and whatnot. But then I played with it in 4A sport mode and think I may keep that snarl. Holy crap.
