Looking at an ‘18 Raptor that Carfax has listed as a “corporate vehicle” (1 owner). Does anyone have experience with what this is ? It’s a clean Carfax

Also, should I be staying away from the 18s due to the cam phaser issue? (Was it resolved in the 19s?)

thanks

I’ve had my 2018 for 18 months and no cam phaser issues. It seems to be getting better the longer that I drive it. I can’t comment on the first half of your question.

It’s rare, but happens. From internet lore the mid year ‘19+ have the latest revision phaser part numbers, give or take. Even so, it’s still very likely the truck won’t have the issue. If you’re concerned about it, pick up an ESP from floodfordesp.com

I have a very early 2018 build (ordered in summer of 2017, picked up in October 2017) and no cam phaser problems. I too don't know the answer to the first part of your question. If it's a good deal, I'd go for it.

I recently bought an ‘18 CPO that was a corporate vehicle. My understanding is that it means it was used for business purposes.

what you don’t want is a “fleet” vehicle. That could be a rental.

FWIW mine does have the cam phaser issue. I didn’t even know it was a thing until after I bought it and started researching after I heard the noise on cold startup. Since it’s a CPO I’m just gonna go get them fixed when it’s convenient. No biggie.

Thanks for the responses. This is a 2018 with 30k on the odo. They are asking $55k. It has a build date of October ‘17

Price seems about average from when I was looking at them earlier this year. I'd assume prices would have dropped a bit with sales being slow. Every now and then I would see some 2018s in the low $50s with 20k-25k miles.

There are some great deals on new ones too... you might be able to get a 802a with some options around $65k... it's new and a 2020.
