I spoke with the service manager at my dealership today. He confirmed that the thin layer of rust is expected on the f150’s and raptor. He says the light layer of rust doesn’t do any harm. It happens because the cast steel they use is untreated. WTF?! The raptor cost of the raptor doesn’t warrant Ford’s Best? The f250’s get treated though, he said. Either way I don’t like it. If I was appraising my truck for resale purposes I would doubt the accuracy of the odometer reading due to the amount of rust my rear differential was showing.
I ordered this spray solution called RUST BULLET. I got it from amazon. It breaks down rust without any scrubbing. It worked pretty good. I followed it up with some POR 15 rust remover. I was hesitant to use the Por 15 because your supposed to let thems SOAK in the Por 15 solution, for it to work. So I just sprayed some after the rust bullet. The rust bullet did All the work. Unfortunately the Por 15 anti rust coating that I ordered won’t arrive till Thursday. I hope my rear diff doesn’t start to rust up again, before it gets coated. Anyway here is before and after pics:5723e139e630301f6856945a1d0dbfbd.jpg

Looks like it did a decent job for not using a wire brush at all. I’ll have to add this to my list of mine looks like yours did.

F**k! Wire brush? Why the F**k didn’t I think of that?!! Damn!! Yea, I just saturated it withe the Rust bullet; used the entire container, then wiped it with a shop rag. Then sprayed it with the Por 15 rust remover and wipes again. Wish I had thought to use a wire brush. Well it looks ok. Hopefully it stays like that till I can coat it with rust protectant.

Rugged Surge 7.62 on the 6.5CM
SureFire SOCOM 5.56 on the AR15
SilencerCo Osprey on the Vector

I wish Suppressors were easier to acquire as I believe they are more polite to my neighbors and to other hunters on the lease but Hollywood has ruined that as people believe they are Silencers.

agreed. Nice cans! How’s the surge? Looking for something new on my 300 black out pistol.

Seems there was another post where a lot of guys used the Amsoil HDMP spray on the rear diff to keep it protected as well. Most people talk about it for aftermarket rear springs, to keep them protected as most come bare.
