Also on the fence right now about which Gear Oil to use when I change my Diff. Cover .... Been on this site for over a year and not heard many good things about Lucas....so leaning towards Amsoil....But if you insist on getting totally confused....just google Amsoil Gear Oil Vs. Lucas...I watched just 2 of them (
) and like with so many products EVERYONE has the BEST....so sometimes its just as easy to throw a dart and use what it hits....I'd think they all are good or they wouldnt be in business.Gets down to who you decide to believe and if an extra $5-$10? per quart will let you sleep better....and with everything I've heard,I like to sleep well so leaning towards the Amsoil...with Mobil 1 a close 2nd... :33:
BTW....2014 Whippled Shelby....and dont tow anything....

What year is your truck?

I use Mobil 1 75W-140 for my Supercharged Gen 1, couldn't be happier.

Hey MTF...
Hope your doing well in NYC...what a mess there and kind of glad now that I moved years ago....
So question....
Looking to change my cover and gear oil and since I dont Tow,was thinking of going with the 75W-90 or 75W-110 which are both a little more than Ford recommendations of 75W-85.....Any reason a guy should go with the 75W-140? I heard if your not towing or doing extreme off-roading its not needed and could do harm, and get you a fraction less in MPG (LOL)....
I was going with the 75W-140 before I heard that,,,,
Pros-Cons?
STAY SAFE..!!!!

LOL..ya better decide on the Gear Oil first, cause picking a cover will really leave you up at night trying to decide..!! Just as many videos on those also....
I can take some of the confusion out of it....IF you decide to go with the Ford Performance one,you can save over $100 by going with the Dana cover....Dana makes them for Ford, and only difference is the little name tag, which no will see underneath anyway....I found a site with killed prices if you PM me....also...from my research, spend the extra $20 and get a LubeLocker gasket rather than using one that comes with it.

For the Gen 1 it's 75W-140
For the Gen 2 it's 75W-90

The Mobil 1 75W-140 it is not as thick as the stock fluid they used.
Honestly, if your using Mobil 1 I would just go with 75W-140
