So I my 17 is in the shop for oil pan leak. I wasn't aware of this issue until it happen to me. I should be getting my truck back tommorrow but my concern is if it will leak again? Has Ford come up with a fix for the 17 and some 18s that have the composite oil pans? I know the 19-20s have aluminum pans but they will not work for us with the composite pans (fitment). If Ford hasn't come up with a fix (yet) is there any aftermarket pans that address this?

Sorry to hear that....but to answer your question, yes.

Ford released an entirely new procedure for oil pan sealing on trucks with the composite oil pans due to sealing issues. The procedure involves replacing the original composite pan with a new one, using Motorcraft Silicone Gasket Remover to remove the old RTV, cleaning the engine block seal surface with Motorcraft Metal Brake Parts Cleaner, then using Motorcraft Engine Shampoo and Degreaser, and finally Motorcraft Metal Surface Prep Wipes to etch the surface and prepare it for RTV adhesion.

It's all outlined in TSB 20-2051, make sure that the dealer follows the TSB as directed.

My dealer did the oil pan on my ‘17 over a year and a half ago.
They kept it at their shop for a couple days. I was worried it would fail again but it has been perfect. I’m very happy with the results.

Engine shampoo? Never heard of such a thing. I should get some for my 15 year old, with the hormones. Off to search amazon for motorcraft shampoo. :^)
41k on my plastic pan, so far so good.

Can you please elaborate on the conversion kit? I thought it wouldn't work.
