Power comes straight from the battery to a relay I mounted inside taillight area of the bed. Basically a modified light harness.


On a gen 2 you might have wiring back there.

That’s a good idea! I might just run a wire from the battery to keep it stand alone. I do have oem bed lights and switch but it’s currently blocked from containers I have in place and I’m not sure I dont want to start digging up those oem lights and switch.

You should be able to get your power from the factory switch wiring or light wiring. shouldn't need to run one front to back. Just my thoughts.
I wouldn’t have run front to back but everything I seen had key on power only (gen1).
