I think you think we're talking about the lug nuts.

We're taking about the U bolt shackle that secures the leaf springs.
If you can get higher jackstands and lift at the rear shackles you will get full leafspring drop and get the most product applied. The current lift point is no different than the truck sitting on the tires.

Installed a Corsa Sport exhaust system. Was a son of a bitch trying to get the old pipes off, but the new one went on easy. Had to tweak the resonator pipes apart slightly to get the Corsa muffler to line up, but it was happy from there on out. I’m going to modify my S2 backup light brackets to give more clearance because the new tips are MASSSIVE.
Love the sound so far [emoji108]

Nice job, that’s a lot of work and well worth the satisfaction. I have a theory on why sometimes it’s so difficult to remove our wheel lug nuts, On my Gen1, there was rust on the studs up to the lug nuts, I’m thinking it’s causing the lug nuts to “seize”, whereby making it difficult and requiring more force to break the lugs loose and causing them to strip. On my Gen2, I used Por15 Top Coat to paint the inner part of the rotors and then sealed with Nyalic, in hopes this will prevent rusting. Thought I’d share.

Well thank you very much. I was indeed proud of myself. My lug of a body is a bit sore this morning haha.

What you say makes sense - if you notice on my photos, theres a blue film on the studs which I presume is blue thread lock.

Right now the stand is under the CV joint - which is akin to placing it directly under U bolt that holds the leaves.

day 2:

to get rid of the creaking : sprayed teflon lubricant between leaf springs & bushings

used chemical guys nonsense all purpose cleaner to clean rims and tires

the photos below are just cleaned tires
no dressing

the chemical guys product is not too bad
but its not strong enough
if I rubbed my finger hard - some grime comes off

but good enough to add some tire polish (chemical guys VRP dressing)

I'm only using chemical guys because thats what was quickly accessible to me

later this afternoon i'll dress the wheels

where the leaf springs attach at the rear to the frame. I’ve used that area to lift the truck with a jack. You can use the frame rails if you have really tall jack stands. If lifted from the frame you will get full leaf spring drop. 627BC716-AB23-4375-9A82-7DADDD08EEC6.jpeg
